Former Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Barack Muluka has revealed why he joined Deputy President William Ruto’s political camp.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV’s Jeff Koinange on Wednesday October 7, 2020, the former Musalia Mudavadi’s point man said he could not decline the opportunity to work with the man who is second in command.
“When the person who occupies the second-highest office in the land considers that I’m meritorious of working with him and for him, it would be an exercise in self-delusion to say that I will not work for the person,” Muluka said.
Muluka has previously worked with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, ODM leader Raila Odinga before joining ANC.
He resigned as ANC Secretary General in August, saying that he had completed all the responsibilities and tasks assigned to him.
In a statement to ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi, the communications consultant added that he needed to decongest the space around the former Deputy Prime Minister.
Former Raila Odinga political strategist Eliud Owalo also ditched Mudavadi’s ANC camp, and joined DP Ruto.
Owalo and Muluka join a growing list of seasoned man-power that the DP is recruiting ahead of the 2022 campaigns.
