DCI dismisses Mutua’s death threats as malicious and with no basis

The Director of Criminal Investigations has dismissed claims by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua that DP Ruto threatened him.
Terming the claims as false and malicious, DCI boss George Kinoti said State House is a secure and protected area and further no witness had been brought forward. Alfred Mutua while making the allegations said ODM leader Raila Odinga was standing a few meters away and might have witnessed the events.
The DCi has now requested Mutua to provide witnesses for the case to be investigated. Mutua is also banking on Interior PS Karanja Kibicho whom Mutua claims to have reported the incident to. It remains to be seen if Raila Odinga and Kibicho will agree to testify.
