Drama in State House as Senators Disagree over Kindiki’s Ouster

There was drama in State House on Friday morning as Senators differed over Senator Kindiki Kithure’s ouster.
The Senators drawn from both Jubilee and NASA have been summoned to State House to whip them into supporting the removal of the embattled Deputy Speaker.
They were picked up from the CBD in a bus as vehicles were not allowed into State House.
Earlier, the senators had differed after the NASA coalition said they will only support the ouster of the embattled deputy speaker if the replacement will come from their coalition.
Jubilee have proposed Uasin Gishu Senator Margaret Kamar as the replacement of Kindiki while the ODM senators are pushing for Senator Sam Ongeri.
The meeting that was supposed to start at 10am was temporary delayed as the Senators were required to undergo mandatory COVID-19 Testing at the gate and await for results from Lancet Laboratories.
Sources told Daily Star that the mandatory testing was prompted by reports that some of the Senators might have come into contact with Bishop Margaret Wanjiru who is in ICU battling COVID-19.
