Members of Parliament close to DP Ruto and from the NASA coalition face the sack from key parliamentary positions as Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta seek to get hold of parliament ahead of crucial BBI reforms.
The reforms are expected to be made in parliament considering that time may not favor a referendum.
Top on Raila’s chopping board according to a list seen by Daily Star is Kiminini Mp Chris Wamalwa who is the deputy minority whip in the National Assembly. Sources told Daily Star that Wamalwa’s goose is cooked because of his perceived association and closeness to DP William Ruto.
Should the Ford Kenya MP be removed, Raila will likely replace him with an ODM MP, a move that will likely jolt the Western voters who will feel shortchanged especially after the removal of Senator Moses Wetangula as the Senate Minority Leader.
Already President Uhuru Kenyatta has successfully Ruto’s allies from parliamentary roles in the senate with the support of ODM and Kanu. The emboldened trio are said to be scheming a similar clean up of the National Assembly where Ruto’s hold crucial position and chair powerful committees.
Talk is rife that National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale and Chief whip Benjamin Washiali will have their fate sealed on the 2nd of June during a invite only Parliamentary Group meeting at State House.
