The plot to impeach DP William Ruto has received a major boost after ANC MPs allied to MUsali Mudavadi weighed in on the matter. The MPs will meet on Wednesday to take a common position.
Led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and Lugari MP Ayub Savula, the MPs will be meeting at Panafric Hotel in Nairobi to deliberate on the matter.
“The ANC Parliamentary Group meeting is meant to ensure that the process of impeaching DP William Ruto succeeds. We will rally MPs to support the collection of signatures to boost the grounds for removal his removal,” said Savula.
Mr Savula said the the plan to impeached DP Ruto was triggered by a recent scheme by Jubilee MPs to impeach the President during a recent meeting by Jubilee legislators in Naivasha.
The motion to impeach Ruto is bankrolled by senior State House officials with the support of Kieleweke and ODM MPs. This group will be meeting in a Nanyuki Hotel this week to plan the collection of signatures.
Kielweke and ODM Mps have accused DP Ruto of disrespecting the President and being disloyal. Cleophas Malala said Ruto has constantly disrespected the President who is a simple of national unity. The two groups will be hoping that that their concerted efforts will raise the required majority of two thirds in both houses.
