Deputy President William Ruto on Friday morning visited Kapsisywo village in Nandi for a meeting with elders of the revered Talai clan.
The meeting comes at a time Ruto is battling internal wrangles in the party spearheaded by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Talai clan from where the famous Koitalel arap Samoei came from are said to have the power predict good tidings besides protecting one from harms way.
Koitalel Samoei is reported to have predicted the coming of the whites and the construction of the railway.
Ruto is known for meeting the Talai elders whenever the political boat gets rocky.
Daily Star can authoritatively report that the elders popularly known as “Orkoiyot” held prayers and offered sacrifices at a nearby hill, according to a source.
During the meeting, Ruto was handed a short stick and it’s highly likely he will be seen walking with it around.
Daniel Arap Moi also had a ‘rungu’ given by the same elders. When Moi died, the elders demanded the rungu back.
