Uasin-Gishu county residents have hit out at governor Mandago on what they termed as dictatorial tendencies.
The aggrieved residents from Kesses constituency have pointed an accusing finger on the county boss on what they say is attempt to undermine other leaders from the region
The residents said Mandago is envious on the leadership of the area MP Dr Swarup Mishra who has become darling of many residents of Kesses. They gave a case in point where the governor donated a paltry Sh 30,000 whereas Mishra donated in excess of Ksh. 30 million.
The governor is also accused of using his administration to undermine local leadership which has sparked outrage from the residents.
Few weeks ago, Mishra was forced to suspend the food programme after the county security committee stated the government directives on social distancing will be jeopardized when foods will be issued. The move is suspected to have been instigated by the governor.
However the arrest of Personal Assistant of Kesses legislator Khalwale Kiptanui recently has elicited a lot of reactions with many residents claiming that the governor is behind the arrest of PA.
Questions have arose as to why the governor should target the PA instead of facing off with Mishra himself.
Just yesterday, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi slammed the governor as insensitive to the plight of the poor after Mandago said the disabled woman who was caught on camera drowned in alcohol by the area chief deserved the humiliation and embarrassment meted by the administrator.
