A meeting convened by Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju to iron out differences between embattled Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru and members of the county assembly ended prematurely after rowdy youth stormed the event demanding the impeachment of the governor.
The meeting at Waiguru’s home that was supposed to start on Tuesday Morning at 11am was interrupted as the governor engaged with the rowdy uninvited guests.
Daily Star has reliably learnt that the meeting disguised as “to deliberate on the County Government’s Priorities and Jubilee Agenda”, according to the invite sent out to MCAs was in fact meant to talk out the MCAs from impeaching the embattled governor.
Waiguru has been at loggerheads with the members of the county assembly after the latter threatened to impeach her over a myriad of corruption allegations.
It took the intervention of the High Court to temporarily suspend her impeachment pending determination of her case or ease of Corona Pandemic restrictions, whichever is earlier.
Since then, the governor has been on an overdrive trying to win MCAs and safe face from the imminent impeachment.
