ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has reiterated that his party and Western Kenya in general will not be joining a coalition with Jubilee at this time.
Mudavadi made the remarks after he met Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula in what analysts say is a move to consolidate the western block.
Mudavadi said it’s not right to enter into a coalition at a time Kenyans are grappling with high cost of living, job losses, brought by the pandemic and the ravaging floods.
The meeting between the two Western leaders comes ahead of Thursday’s NASA Parliamentary Group meeting convened by ODM.
Sources told Daily Star that Musalia and his ANC MPs will give the event a wide berth while Ford Kenya said it was consulting as to whether to attend.
Musalia Mudavadi has been holding a flurry of meetings this week. There was speculation when he met Ruto’s ally Jackson Mandago last week. Since then, he has met several influential Western MPs in a move seen as consolidating his backyard.
