Residents of Uasin Gishu county have warned Kitui governor Charity Ngilu against attending Eldoret BBI rally. The ultimatum follows Ngilu’s order to eject Moses Kuria during Kitui BBi rally on Saturday. Kuria was roughed up and ejected from the podium. It took the intervention of Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana to have him back after members of the public objected to his eviction. Kuria is a loyal ally of DP William Ruto and his highly revered in Uasin Gishu for his courageous and abrasive nature.
A group calling itself Vijana na Ruto took to the streets of Eldoret to condemn the inhuman harassment of the MP. They warned Ngilu against setting foot in Eldoret for the BBI rally. The group also warned the ODM MPs against disrespecting their Jubilee MPs while in Eldoret next weekend for Eldoret BBI edition.
“We are warning Charity Ngilu against stepping foot in Eldoret. Her acts of hooliganism is not welcome here. We are also warning ODM against continued disrespect to Jubilee leaders. They should know BBI will come to Eldoret and they will have it rough”, Said Elvis Korir, the group spokesperson
The group has also asked the Jubilee MPs to take charge of BBI meeting in Eldoret and other Jubilee strongholds. Korir noted that, they had persevered untold humiliation of their leaders by ODM MPs and it was about time things are squared even starting from Eldoret BBI rally.
This is the second time in as many weeks that the controversial politician is finding himself in hostile ground. During the Mombasa rally, he was confronted by group of men who demanded he stood up when the opposition leader Raila Odinga arrived. However, the defiant Kuria remained sitted much to the annoyance of ODM MPs leading to the ugly confrontation.
Kuria has been on a full blown war attacking the proponents of BBI as lacking the interest of the common Mwananchi at heart. Just yesterday he asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to tame his “wife” in referenced to Raila Odinga. His tough stance on matters BBI has put him at loggerhead with the State.
