Why Uhuru has invited Kieleweke MPs for night meeting at State House

Uhuru invites Kieleweke MPs for night meeting in State House

President Uhuru Kenyatta has convened a secret meeting at State House with Kieleweke allied Jubilee MPs.

The meeting will bring together MPs and Senators who are pro-BBI and supportive of the handshake.

The Meeting scheduled for Tuesday the 5th of May 2020, according to the invite seen by Daily Star and sent to 56 Kieleweke MPs will take place at 9 pm.

Those allied to the Deputy President William Ruto popularly known as TangaTanga were not invited.

Sources at State House say the agenda of the highly secretive Kieleweke meeting at State House that excluded TangaTanga is meant to plot party coup.

Both factions of Jubilee have been scheming to take over the party. It’s believed President Uhuru Kenyatta wants the pro-BBI MPs to endorse a raft of acrimonious changes to the Jubilee party National management Committee.

On Saturday, Jubilee Secretary General published the changes despite rejection by the registrar of political parties Ann Nderitu.

The changes are likely to escalte the fall out between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

The meeting comes at a time the country is battling with the Coronavirus pandemic that has ravaged the world and amid government restriction that limits essential gathering to not more than 15 people.
